About Dr. Mai

As he began his journey to becoming a premier dentist at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Dr. Mai committed himself to the highest level of excellence possible. For 19 years, Dr. Mai’s base of experience has grown with the industry’s state-of-the-art treatment strategies and allows him to offer you customized and comfortable care in prevention, restoration and cosmetic dentistry, including, as needed, the use of various forms of conscious sedation. As a result, Dr. Mai’s personal care has earned him some of the very best dental reviews in the area.

In his personal time, Dr. Mai loves spending time with his son, exploring the wonders of the USA and the world at large, and dedicating time to his own personal fitness.

About Dr. Francesca Maurici, DMD

Meet Dr. Maurici! She is a Tampa native and a true Gator fan, having attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies, dental education, and her AEGD residency program. Dr. Maurici received extensive advanced training in her residency program in the art of enhancing her patient’s smiles, confidence, and overall systemic health. A positive and individualized experience is what she strives to attain with all of her patients.

In her free time, Dr. Maurici enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, cooking healthy meals, and going to the gym.

About Dr Fadi Fares, DMD

Dr. Fares brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the field of dentistry. His journey began at Antonin University, where he earned a degree in Dental Laboratory Technology in 1988. He then moved to Tampa to further his education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Florida in 1991. In 1995, Dr. Fares graduated with his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University, where he was honored with the Organization of Teachers of Oral Diagnosis Award.

During his dental studies, Dr. Fares completed an externship at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT, providing dental care to cadets and veterans. This formative experience deepened his commitment to delivering high-quality care to his patients. Today, Dr. Fares is certified in moderate parenteral sedation by the Florida Board of Dentistry, allowing him to offer sedation dentistry and ensure patient comfort during a wide range of dental procedures.

Dr. Fares is widely recognized for his meticulous attention to detail in cosmetic dentistry, having transformed thousands of smiles. He collaborates closely with the medical community to provide exceptional patient care and maintains a strong dedication to continuous learning. By regularly attending continuing education seminars, he stays at the forefront of advancements in dental technology and materials.

Dr. Fares also has a special interest in treating Obstructive Sleep Apnea with oral appliances, helping his patients achieve better sleep and improved overall health. A strong advocate for giving back to the community, Dr. Fares volunteers at various dental events each year, providing free dental care to those in need.

He is an active member of several esteemed professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Fares will begin seeing patients at the LOL office on February 3rd and will also offer sedation dentistry to ensure patient comfort.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Fares enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, traveling, and participating in family activities.

Available on Tuesdays from 9 AM to 6 PM & Wednesdays from 7 AM to 4 PM

Since 2014, Carey has been an integral part of our practice, driven by her passion for dentistry and helping patients conquer their fears.

Starting as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, Carey has seamlessly transitioned from clinical roles to leadership. Today, as our Regional Manager, she ensures the smooth operation of our practice. Off-duty, Carey enjoys quality time with her husband, Jordan, and their beloved pets. They support Jordan’s home inspection business and indulge in boating, concerts, and cozy movie nights. Her dedication to your dental well-being and bright smiles shines through every aspect of her work. With Carey by your side, expect a comfortable and exceptional dental experience.

Kristina Haywood

Remote Operations Coordinator

Meet Kristina Haywood, our Remote Operations Coordinator, with nearly two decades of invaluable dentistry experience since 2002. Although Kristina has relocated to the picturesque state of Oregon, she remains the steadfast backbone of our Mai Dentistry team, offering her extensive expertise behind the scenes. Her advanced knowledge in patient treatment planning and insurance ensures the seamless operation of our practice.

Beyond her professional life, Kristina finds joy in the great outdoors, often camping amidst Oregon’s natural beauty. She’s not just a dental wizard but also a karaoke star, a fishing enthusiast, and a master of pranks when spending quality time with friends and family. Oregon may be her new home, but her commitment to Mai Dentistry and our patients continues to shine from afar, making Kristina an indispensable part of our team.

Christine Glenn

Assistant Manager

Originally from New Jersey, Christine moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1975. Her career began in banking, but she shifted her focus to dentistry and has been with Mai Dentistry since 2013’s opening of the Hudson office. She finds working with her patients, Dr. Mai and the team at Mai Dentistry to be deeply enjoyable. Her personal interests include spending time with family and friends, learning as much as she can about health and dental care, and pursuing adventures traveling and kayaking.
